Vehicle Story: I bought this left-over postal Jeep from a deer lease in north central Texas for $200. All the glass was out, the engine was apart, and the gas tank had holes. I removed all the "extra" lights, brackets, the roof vent and the heater. After sandblasting and painting I moved the steering, brakes, and instruments to the left side of the Jeep, while the wiper motor and battery box went to the right hand side. All the glass came from a $150 "parts Jeep". The steering gearbox was easy. I used a CJ5 manual box and made a bracket to mount it to the left side of the frame. The dash was cut in half, swapped end/for end and welded back together. Each piece of the wiring had to be extended 30". The engine is the 4 cylinder overhead cam Audie engine.(same as used in the 924 Porsche) Rated at 85 Hp at 4500 RPM. The transmission is the 3 speed 904 Torqueflight. The Jeep is geared really low and it is a pleasure to use around the farm
